Chance Encounter
In a strange twist of fate, the soldier on the left is believed to be Albert Davey, from Te Aroha, who is the grandfather of Chris Davey, husband of Anzac Jacks grandaughter, Vicki. They were both stationed in Egypt at the same time, and it is quite logical to think that two young men who lived only a few kilometres from each other, in Te Aroha and Paeroa, would become friends when far from home in a foreign country.
